Tips For Your Trip

Tips for a Group Leader:
To help you with your group plans, we've put together this checklist.  It includes the things we've learned over the years and some commonly asked questions.

Groups rates apply when the group leader pays in advance with one check/transaction and presents completed waiver/release of liability forms at check-in.

Call Us:
Call us first @ 1-800-451-RAFT (7238).  Trip times can fill up early.  Reservations are highly recommended, especially for weekends and large groups.  This will help insure availability for your preferred trip date and time.  Walk-ins are also welcome when space is available.  Specify the dates and times your group is interested in coming and the approximate number in your group.

Deposit:

For individuals (11 or less), we require full payment within 10 days of booking your reservation.  If the reservation is made within 10 days of the trip date, the full balance is due at the time of booking.

For groups (12 or more), we require a deposit ($15.00/person for middle trips or $30.00/person for full river trips) due within 10 days of booking your reservation with the balance due two weeks prior to your trip date.  For a group of 12 or more booking a trip less than 14 days before your trip date, full payment is required to confirm your reservation.

BONUS: A group leader who pays for 25 or more people gets to go for free! (only 1 free trip per party)

In order to receive the group leader free trip, you MUST pay with one check/transaction and present completed release forms at check-in.

It is our suggestion that you not "front" the deposit for your group.  Please make sure you and your party are aware of our cancellation and refund policy.  We accept all major credit cards.

Confirmation:
We do not send out written confirmations, however we will send a confirmation via email if your email address is provided when you call.  If you have a large group, we also suggest that you call back at least 10-14 days prior to your trip to confirm the number in your group.  This ensures that we are ready to accommodate any changes in your original reservation quantity.

Cancellation Policy:

When you make a reservation with Cherokee Rafting, it is our commitment to hold spaces available for you which might mean turning others away from that particular date and time.  With this in mind, please understand that we must be firm in adhering to our cancellation/refund policy.  Please notify us as soon as possible if you find it necessary to cancel your trip.  To receive a full refund or to reschedule, changes must be made to the scheduled trip no later than 10 days before your trip date.  Trips cancelled less than 10 days prior are subject to a cancellation/processing fee of $10.00 per person.  Unfortunately, we CANNOT offer refunds for cancellations or reductions in group size made less than 10 days prior to the scheduled trip, regardless of the circumstances.  We regret that we can’t make exceptions for illness, personal emergencies, or bad weather.  Remember, we go rafting rain or shine.

Sending in a Check:
If you send us a check, please be sure to include your trip date, time, and the name of the person or group that the reservation is booked under.

Talk to your group:
Start talking to your group early and collect the deposits as they sign up. This will help you when scheduling your raft trip and will ensure that you can send the deposit in before the due date.

Waiver forms:
A waiver form must be completed for each person participating in our whitewater rafting activities.  Date them for the day of the trip.  Anyone under the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian signature along with his/her own signature.  The address portion of the waiver needs to be filled out legibly and completely.  Please don't forget to sign and print your names.  All groups of 24 or more should have all waivers completed prior to your arrival at Cherokee Rafting.  This will help save time at check-in.
