The main attraction of the Upper Ocoee River is the whitewater course below Ocoee Dam number 3. This one mile white knuckle stretch drew thousands to the Olympic competitions in 1996. At this section of the river you can either watch the action or be the action. These spectacular rapids run just feet away from the banks, where you can sit and watch the boats as they pass. Olympic Course Model- Near Ocoee Dam # 1 stands a 1:10 scale concrete and wood model of the Olympic whitewater course. This model is one of the largest and most detailed ever built by the tva, comes complete with running water, stones, churning rapids, and standing waves.
